Read an interview with Lene Gammelgaard.
A client and friend of Scott Fischer, Gammelgaard became the first Scandinavian woman
to summit Everest on the climb in May 1996, and almost died in the storm in the infamous
"huddle" at the South Col at 26,000 feet. Her account of that ordeal provides a haunting
glimpse into her brush with death. Blinded by darkness and heavy snow, oxygen tanks
empty, bodies frozen and fatigued, 11 climbers wandered through the raging
snowstorm.
Ms. Gammelgaard's appearances focus on fundamental life questions that every human
being can relate to, steaming from different expeditions as case stories to enhance different
aspects of audience interest. More recently, her presentations center on her efforts around
the development of human resources using wilderness as the classroom for organizations.
With an aim of making people grasp the truth about what they are responsible, her talks
resonant with listeners. She can present listeners the opportunity to learn the tools and
change of attitudes that support life quality, no matter what happens in our surroundings.
Her presentations may be coupled with adventure-based exercises, providing for a truly
impactful experience.
"I speak about my experience and the fundamental
lessons people need to face living life on life's terms. And are happy to answer questions
etc. My lectures can easily be designed around client themes."
Lene Gammelgaard
Presentations typically range from 45- 90 min. Adventure-based exercise enhanced
